I think this is the most impressive new wine to come out of Penedès in a long time. Laurent Corrio and Irene Alemany have produced just 5430 bottles of this wine from Irene's family vineyards, and vinified it in a "garage" in Vilafranca. It spent 20 months in new French oak, including undergoing malolactic fermentation. Warm, opulent, rounded and complex - surprising for a Penedès.
