The Foraster family have been growing vines around Montblanc in the Conca de Barberà for generations, but have recently invested heavily in a modern cellar, replanting their vineyards with red varieties. The vines for the Josep Foraster criança are at 370m above sea level, and were replanted in 1995. The wine spends 13-14 months in 225 litre American oak barrels. A surprising wine for such young vines, that bodes well for the future of this cellar.
