Joan d'Anguera was one of the first estates in Catalonia to plant Syrah, back in the early eighties. The cellar made a name for itself making young unoaked wines until the new Syrah and Cabernet vineyards were sufficiently old for the quality required for an oak-aged wine. Finca l'Argata is their first criança, a delightful spicy wine with a noticeable dollop of rich Syrah in the blend. This cellar is destined to be one of the standard-bearers of the new Montsant denomination.
