Masia Esplanes is the leading D.O. Montsant wine from the Capafons Ossó winery. The entire production comes from the Esplanes estate just outside Falset, where the different varieties are planted in small vineyards according to the soil types found there. In a relatively small estate there are as many as nine different soil types, and the vines were replanted 15 years ago after levelling small stretches according to the prevailing soil type in each part of the estate. The wine is nicely balanced with ripe fruit and toasted notes from the barrel ageing.
