I’m a great fan of this wine and this producer. Marc Ripoll is a careful winemaker who has produced a wonderfully elegant wine. Whereas I tend to associate carinyena from Porrera with huge opulent wines, this Carinyena based wine from Gratallops is all about subtlety. (OK, it’s a Priorat, so it’s still big...)
Definitely a wine that should be decanted - just half an hour of air and it really starts opening up.
