This wine is from Albet i Noya’s “collection” of monovarietal wines (along with an excellent Syrah, a Cabernet and a Chardonnay). It is aged for a year in a combination of French and American oak barrels, and like all the cellar’s wines is certified organic. The labels from all the “Col·lecció” series are from paintings of the estate farmhouse made by local artists.
In an area where Tempranillo (aka Ull de llebre) is often savigely overcropped, Albet i Noya have a particularly low yielding clone giving excellent results (like the 90 points Robert Parker gave this wine...)
